Backstrap Weaving with Kate O'Farrell of Greystones

Backstrap weaving is an ancient craft still practiced in many parts of Central America.
The Backstrap loom is extremely portable and uses your body to create the tension necessary to weave.

No experience required. We will begin class with the basics of Backstrap weaving. Once you're comfortable weaving, you will learn to make designs using the Pick up technique from Veracruz, Mexico. 

Be sure to bring your camera for a demonstration on How to Warp your Loom! You may also want to bring a a small stool to sit on as well.  

You will be provided with a pre-warped loom, ready to weave, as well as your personal kit to take home and continue your weaving
